wir begrüßen Sie herzlich im Merseburger Dom und wünschen Ihnen einen angenehmen Aufenthalt. Die Hausordnung ist für alle Besucherinnen und Besucher verbindlich. Mit dem Betreten des Domensembles erkennen Sie die Regelungen der Hausordnung an.
Diese Hausordnung dient dazu, den Besuch des Merseburger Doms in angenehmer Atmosphäre zu erleben. Die Beachtung der Hausordnung liegt daher in Ihrem eigenen Interesse. Kritik Ihrerseits nehmen wir ernst und freuen uns deshalb über Verbesserungsvorschläge und Anregungen.
Die Verwaltung der Vereinigten Domstifter übt, vertreten durch den Stiftsdirektor, das Hausrecht aus. Auf Weisung des Stiftsdirektors wird die Ausübung des Hausrechts auf die Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter des Besucherservice sowie des Veranstaltungsmanagements und Marketings der Vereinigten Domstifter übertragen. Den Anweisungen des Personals ist daher Folge zu leisten. Sie dienen der Sicherheit der Besucherinnen und Besucher sowie dem Schutz der von den Vereinigten Domstiftern verwahrten Kulturgüter.
During the tourist opening hours, entry to the cathedral and the associated rooms in the cathedral ensemble is only permitted with a valid ticket.
When entering the cathedral ensemble, the tickets must be presented for validation and then carried along for the entire duration of the visit. The tickets entitle the holder to one entry, invalidated tickets lose their validity when leaving the cathedral ensemble.
The purchase of concessionary tickets usually requires proof of eligibility by presenting an official document (e.g. students, apprentices, recipients of level II unemployment benefit, holders of a severe disability card).
Eintrittskarten, die unberechtigt erworben oder missbräuchlich genutzt werden, verlieren ihre Gültigkeit und sind ersatzlos zurückzugeben. Die betroffenen Personen können zukünftig vom Besuch ausgeschlossen werden. Die Vereinigten Domstifter behalten sich vor, Strafanzeige zu erstatten.
Jahreskarten sind personengebunden, sie sind nicht übertragbar. Sie berechtigen ab dem Kaufdatum für die Dauer eines Jahres den Dom inklusive des Kapitelhauses, der Ausstellung in der Südklausur und des Kapitelhausgartens beliebig oft während der gültigen Öffnungszeit zu besuchen (für Sonderausstellungen gelten gesonderte Bedingungen).

Due to church services, devotions, concerts and weddings as well as events, there may be restrictions on opening hours and the premises to be visited. In the event of too many visitors or for other reasons, the tour may be restricted in time and/or space, either wholly or in part.
Essential restoration work in the Cathedral can affect the view of individual works of art.
Services take place on Sundays and religious festivals from 10 a.m. until 12 noon.
Die Besucherinnen und Besucher werden gebeten, sich dem Charakter des Gotteshauses angemessen zu verhalten und alles zu unterlassen, was den guten Sitten sowie der Aufrechterhaltung der Sicherheit und Ordnung zuwiderläuft.
The cathedral is a place of worship and is also a place of personal prayer and reflection during the tourist opening hours. All visitors are therefore required to behave in a manner appropriate to the dignity of the church. Loud speech and running around are therefore to be avoided. Visitors should wear clothing appropriate to the dignity of the Cathedral.
Alle gesperrten Bereiche der Kirche – insbesondere der Altarraum und die Orgelempore – sind für eine Besichtigung nicht zugänglich. Ausnahmen gelten nur für befugte Personen und autorisierte Führungen.
Das Rauchen im Domensemble ist nicht gestattet. Ausnahmen können bei Veranstaltungen genehmigt werden. Hierzu werden separate Bereiche zum Rauchen ausgeschildert.
Animals may not be taken into the Cathedral and the adjoining premises, with the exception of guide and assistance dogs.
Essen und Trinken ist im Dom und in den Ausstellungsbereichen der Südklausur sowie im Kapitelhaus nicht gestattet.
Mobiltelefone sind auf „lautlos“ zu stellen; das Benutzen der Mobiltelefone außerhalb des Doms, des Kapitelhauses und der Ausstellungsbereiche hat so zu erfolgen, dass andere Besucherinnen und Besucher hierdurch nicht gestört werden.
The bringing of bicycles, scooters, skateboards, roller skates, balance bikes, etc. into the Cathedral and into the adjacent premises of the Cathedral area is not permitted for safety reasons and to protect our visitors from unreasonable disturbances. These objects must remain outside the Cathedral.
Persons in a clearly alcoholized or intoxicated state are not allowed to enter the premises or may be expelled from the premises during the visit by the staff of the visitor centre.
Children under six years of age may only visit the Cathedral and the adjoining premises when accompanied by an adult.
School classes and after-school groups as well as other children and youth groups may only visit the Cathedral ensemble when accompanied by teachers and supervisors. For insurance reasons, they must be present during the entire time of the Cathedral visit and supervise the group sufficiently.
It is not permitted to touch the exhibits or to handle objects that could cause damage to the works of art.
For the protection of visitors and works of art, individual areas of the Cathedral ensemble are video-monitored. These areas are signposted.
Visitors are liable for all damages caused by their behaviour. The obligation to reimburse costs also applies in the event of negligent or intentional activation of the alarm and fire alarm systems. Parents or guardians or supervising adults are liable for damage caused by unattended children.
Passages, stairs and emergency exits must not be obstructed. Emergency exits may only be used in an emergency.
Guided tours through the Cathedral and the adjacent rooms may only be conducted by the staff of Vereinigte Domstifter. Guides not employed by Vereinigte Domstifter may only conduct a guided tour with an explicit authorization by Vereinigte Domstifter.
Wheelchairs may be used in the Cathedral and in the entire cathedral ensemble. Wheelchair users are recommended to bring an accompanying person with them.
Filming and photographing is permitted for private purposes only. For this purpose, a photo permit must be purchased and carried along in the cathedral ensemble in a way that is clearly visible to the supervisory staff. The use of flash and tripod is permitted.
When filming and photographing, the personal rights of other visitors must be respected.
Photography and filming for commercial and scientific purposes as well as in the context of media coverage (press) is only allowed with the written permission of Vereinigte Domstifter.
Bulky hand luggage (rucksacks and bags larger than DIN A 3) as well as wet umbrellas may not be taken into the Cathedral and the adjoining rooms (especially exhibition rooms). Lockers or umbrella stands are available for the storage of these items.
Items not collected are treated as lost property. A liability on the part of Vereinigte Domstifter for valuables deposited in the cloakroom area is excluded.
Please hand in items found in the cathedral ensemble at the cathedral cash desk. Objects found will be disposed of according to the legal regulations. A handling fee will be charged for reforwarding lost items, the amount of which depends on the time and effort involved and the shipping costs.
Die Hausordnung tritt mit sofortiger Wirkung in Kraft. Sie liegt im Kassenbereich aus. Außerdem kann sie auf der Internetseite www.merseburger-dom.de eingesehen werden.

1.) Das Tragen einer Mund-Nasen-Bedeckung im Dom-Ensemble ist verpflichtend und Voraussetzung für den Zugang.
2) Immediately after entering, every guest is obliged to disinfect their hands.
3.) Zur Verfolgung von Infektionsketten besteht seitens des Gesundheitsamtes die Auflage, alle Besucherinnen und Besucher namentlich und mit Adresse, Telefonnummer sowie Ankunftszeit zu erfassen. Die Adresslisten werden nach Ablauf einer Aufbewahrungszeit von 8 Wochen vernichtet.
4) All visitors are required to pay as cashless as possible.
5) The visit of the Cathedral and the adjoining rooms takes place after a designated tour.
6) Visitors are obliged to observe the rules of distance and hygiene. A minimum distance of at least 1.5 metres must be maintained between visitors, supervisory and cashier staff. This applies for the entire duration of the stay in the Cathedral and the adjoining rooms.
7) The number of persons in some rooms is strictly limited.
8) No one with recognisable symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 disease or any cold symptoms may enter the museum.
9.) Besucherinnen und Besucher, die innerhalb der letzten 14 Tage Kontakt zu einer infizierten Person hatten, ist das Betreten des Doms und seiner Ausstellungsräume nicht erlaubt.
10) The Vereinigte Domstifter attach great importance to the safety of visitors and staff. If, despite the extensive hygiene and safety measures, an infection with the COVID-19 virus should occur, the Vereinigte Domstifter do not assume any liability.
11) The supplementary regulations to the house rules of 2 March 2020 come into force from 8 May 2020. They are available with the generally valid house rules in the cash desk area and can also be viewed on the website at www.naumburger-dom.de.
